Fruit & Nut Bars

Another recipe from Lisa’s Bixel (www.lisaskitchen.ca). You can make these different every time just by changing the nuts and seeds.

Wheat FreeKid Friendly

¼ cup brown rice syrup
¼ cup honey
1 tablespoons sunflower oil
¼ cup nut butter (almond, cashew, or peanut)
1 cup of whole grain cereal flakes or puffs (such as millet puffs for gluten free)
1 cup of rolled oats or quinoa flakes (gluten free)
¾ cup of dried fruits (any combination of raisins, dried cranberries, chopped dates,
apricots)
½ cup sunflower seeds (or any combination of pumpkin, sesame or sliced almonds)


Heat first four ingredients in a saucepan until melted. Add dry ingredients and stir. Pat into an 8 x 8 pan. Refrigerate for one hour and cut into bars. Everyone loves these!
