Simple Pasta Sauce

A great way to boost your veggie intake for the day!

Purchase a jar (or two) of store bought organic pasta sauce

Add as many vegetables as you can…

  • Diced onions
  • Diced fresh garlic
  • Chopped fresh tomatoes
  • Fresh spinach
  • Diced celery
  • Green flower part of broccoli cut finely
  • Stalk of broccoli diced
  • Steamed asparagus
  • Shredded carrots
  • Diced peppers
  • Diced snow peas
  • Ground flaxseed- add as much as you like…

Add spices as you wish, oregano, Italian spices etc.

Add your choice of protein: ground beef, chicken, turkey, tofu, tempeh

Try Kamut, Spelt or Brown Rice pasta for a change.

Add a tablespoon of flax seed oil to cooked pasta for a boost of Omega 3.

Cook in a large amount, portion up and freeze and use on those days when you are too rushed to cook! Enjoy!
